Like many of you, I was up at 4:30 am, coffee in hand, to watch a Cinderella story unfold. Meghan found her prince. Coco, our Ageless Style mascot and recently adopted 1-year-old, sat in her chair next to me. Coco was very stylish herself. She was wearing a fascinator designed by yours truly.
A fascinator originally referred to a lightweight knitted or crocheted headscarf in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The word comes from the Latin fascinatus meaning to bewitch or cast a spell on. Check out Ms. Coco’s bewitching spell.
Back to business! Were the royal wedding guests ageless styled?
The wedding’s dress code was a challenge to meet. Women were asked to wear a day dress and a hat. For this conservative event, women’s’ outfits would require these elements:
• Covered shoulders
• Subtle patterns or vibrant-colored fabrics
• No pattern cut-outs
• Knee or tea length
• No black or white
• Closed-toe shoes
Despite these restrictions, didn’t we see some amazing interpretations of ageless style?
Here are our top five fashion picks for Ageless Style at the royal wedding. Steph felt that everyone who wore a monochromatic solid color stole the show. I liked the delicate details and color of Doria Ragland and Pippa Middleton’s outfits.
I have an honorable mention shout out to Kathie Lee Gifford for the swan fascinator she wore during her wedding broadcast. Absolutely wild!
What do you think of our choices? Any comments?
