Ageless Style is here for you again! We are bringing you the Fall 2018 fashion report in your specially tailored CliffsNotes version. I know…I had you at CliffsNotes!
Fall Fashion Color Trends
What colors are popping up in the stores for this fall? We are already starting to see some of our favorite shades of reds (burgundy and mauve) and blue (navy, navy, navy!).
We love the bold pop of magenta this season. This color is the perfect hue to mix and match with everything in your closet.
You can say goodbye to Millennial Pink. Rust is the newest color obsession. It is making a comeback. Check your color palette for just the right shade for you.
Brown is the new black. All shades are on trend from tan to chocolate. So, have fun with brown combinations.
Red worn as a monochromatic look is totally on point. Just check out this slideshow from Popsugar.com.
Neon for Fall?
Yes, there are unexpected pops of neon colors in apparel. Prada is all in for neon. But not garish neon. The new hues are fruitier, with watermelon, lemon, and lime making for a softer palette.
If you want to be fashion forward, you can incorporate subtle hints of neon in piping or embellishments, then graduate to brightly colored tops and dresses. Be sure to ground your neon pieces with neutrals like navy, grey or beige.
Is Plaid the New Stripe?
The fall plaid styles have a sleek modern upgrade. Colorful oversized and micro plaid prints add a freshness to the classic style. Look for tailored plaid apparel with pretty embellishments and unexpected color combos. These features make the classic patterns pop.
If you want to purchase one item, then go for a houndstooth pattern. Houndstooth will dominate through the holiday season. Select a classic black and white houndstooth with crystals, fur or embroidery embellishments.
For the adventurous out there…try mixing different colored plaid pieces together or mixing plaid materials together. Apply Ageless Style’s rules.
Personally, I am not a logo fan. But a logo craze has entered mainstream for fall. If you like the look, you will find more logo merchandise available for consumers.
While I don’t care for logos, I LOVE tights. Always have. I think it is a throwback to my 1960s and Twiggy times. Bright stockings are the easiest Fall 2018 trend to wear and probably the least expensive to incorporate. Be adventurous in your outfit combinations.
Animal prints are a perennial fall favorite. You will see the leopard, python, zebra, cheetah, and more animal prints. Apparel includes animal-print coats, dresses and matching sets! To get wild, try mixing and matching different animal prints.
Midi skirts are a very popular Fall 2018 trend! The skirt is longer with the hem grazing just above the ankle. The silhouette elongates your frame but is still short enough to show off your shoe collection. And of course, we’ll be wearing the look with ankle booties or cowboy boots. Giddy up!
Dreamy Prairie Dresses
We’re going to be seeing A LOT of “western, country, vintage” inspired patterns, prints, fabrics, and embellishments. These long, loose dresses are part bohemian and part Victorian made with paper-thin chiffon and silk. Laura Ingalls Wilder would be rocking the style. Don’t forget to add your cowboy boots! I know you have a pair in the closet.
Wow! I am exhausted. Enough inspiration for now…you know what you like to wear. If there is something in the report screaming out to you, give it a try. I am all about experimenting with new looks. And there are plenty of options for Fall 2018!
Have fun shopping! Take your best friend and make it a day to remember!
